Stormy Pirates Charters

I can honestly say that Stormy Pirates are the best charter company in the Virgin Islands! During our vacation a week ago, my wife and booked an 8 hour private charter for the USVI and Ii could not have been a better experience! After pick up from the Cruz Bay dock in front of the National Park Visitors Center, Captain Ty asked us what our interests were and what we hoped to get out of the day. With this being our 3rd time in St John, we wanted to try and see places we haven’t been before along with seeing some of our favorite spots! We certainly did that! With stops at Oppenheimer beach, mermaids chair, Christmas Cove, Happy island, Honeymoon beach, and Lovango, we certainly got our fair share of snorkeling in! Our initial plan was to get lunch at Lime Out in Coral Bay, however once we made the southern turn from the north shore of St John, the swells were very large as we were heading into 30+ MPH winds. After fighting the swells for 10 minutes, Captain Ty stopped to talk to us. He informed us that even though the seas were rough, we were 100% safe and we could continue to Lime Out if we wanted to, but it would likely take an hour navigating the rough swells. We chose to turn around as we had been to Lime Out several times in the past and it was the best decision ever! We headed over to Secret Harbor in St Thomas for lunch at the Sunset Grille. Amazing fish tacos and cocktails! We then hiked Happy Island and saw so many hermit crabs! At Christmas Cove, we swam around a shipwreck where we saw several sea turtles grazing in the sea grass bed. After more snorkeling, we even saw a beautiful spotted eagle ray! Our first time seeing one! After snorkeling the reef at Lovango (beautiful!) we circled the island and saw just how many goats live on the island! So many! We then moored in at Honeymoon Beach for one last swim and to take in the fading sun before heading back to Cruz Bay tired, fulfilled, and slightly tipsy (thanks to delicious rum punch made by Captain Ty himself!).
We also booked a group charter that took us the BVI to visit The Baths at Virgin Gorda and White Bay on Jost Van Dyke! This trip was just a great! Captain Brandon along with mate Kevin and Steph made the day absolutely incredible! With a cruise ship being in port, they knew that The Baths would be crowded. So Kevin and Steph took the initiative to get us into the national park quickly so we could fully experience the baths without all the crowds! This made it such a great experience! Both Kevin and Steph were also very educational on the history of the Baths and shared interesting facts on how the baths formed. Kevin and Steph happily took each groups pictures everywhere they wanted one! Thank you to Captain Brandon for handling all the customs work on the BVI while we got to enjoy ourselves! From there, we left The Baths so we could have extra time on Jost Van Dyke which means more drinks at the Soggy Dollar Bar! It wasn’t crowded when we went and the drinks were amazing! Plenty of Adirondack chairs along the beach to relax in if you’re not swimming! Views were incredible and we couldn’t have asked for a better trip! Thank you again Captain Ty, Captain Brandon, Steph, and Kevin for making our trip absolutely incredible! We always book with Stormy Pirates when we visit the Virgin Islands!

Our best day of vacation was when we sailed for 8 hours on Stormy Pirates! From the moment we walked on the boat it was a specular time! We loved Lime Out, snorkeling and the fact we had to worry about nothing was the best part! Captain Brandon and Deckhand Kevin were FABULOUS! Totally family friendly and would definitely go back!

We did a charter from St Thomas to the BVI with Captain Kenny and Captain Suzanna on July 23. They were amazing!!! We had a group of 12, and we were dressed in full 90s theme for my 40th birthday. They don’t miss a beat and had a blast with us. They even surprised me with cupcakes. I highly recommend them for your private charter. You will not be disappointed.
